What is Paytm?

Paytm means “Pay through Mobile”.

Introduction of Paytm:


This is fastest growing Indian Ecommerce website launched in 2010. One97 Communication Company launched. Firstly they focused on mobile and DTH recharging later bill payment of various portals including electricity bills, gas bills as well as telephone bills. In 2014 Paytm started the business. India's most popular online destination for prepaid mobile & DTH recharges and shopping, and its Android and iOS apps have been ranked among the most popular apps.

SERVICE:
In 2014, the company launched Paytm Wallet, India's largest mobile payment service platform with over 40 million wallets. The service became the preferred mode of payment across leading consumer internet companies such as Uber, Bookmyshow, Makemytrip.

FUNDING:
Paytm got a major boost in e-commerce when Indian industrialist RatanTata made personal investment in the firm in March 2015.In the same month, the company received a $575 million investment from Chinese e-commerce company AlibabaGroup, after Ant Financial Services Group, an Alibaba Group affiliate, took 25% stake in One97 as part of a strategic agreement.

PARTNER:
Paytm works with all mobile operators in all states in India for prepaid mobile, DTH and Data card recharges and post paid mobile, landline and Data card bill payments. Its partners with the multiple national banks, for credit card, debit card and net banking payments. Pay tm also works with various billers for utility bill payments.

 HOW TO DO RECHARGE ON PAYTM?



Step 1: First make Register and  Login to Paytm.com

Step 2: Enter your mobile number in the desired box.


Step 3: Select Proceed to recharge.

Step 4 : Select the payment option.

Step5: Enter Bank Details if everything given details are valid then transaction complete.

Step6: Recharge is done.

Scan QR Code & pay by Paytm for auto/taxi, at retail store, petrol pump or parking

How to Add money in your wallet?

  • You simply need to download the app or visit Paytm.com and after logging in successfully, go to the wallet section.
  • Enter amount you want to add and click on "Add money to Wallet".
  • You can add money to your wallet through multiple payment options like net banking, debit card, credit card and ATM card.

All KYC Merchants Can Transfer Money from Paytm to their Bank Account at 0% charges

All KYC Merchants can transfer money from Paytm to their bank account at 0% fee (till 31st December 2016)**. If you are accepting Paytm at your shop and want to get KYC done, please email us at care@paytm.com
All other Paytm customers & non-KYC merchants will be able to send money from their Paytm wallets to any bank account at a flat fee of 1% (reduced from 4% earlier)
Also note that there are no charges at all for sending money between Paytm Wallets. It continues to be free for all our users.
New Paytm customers have to wait 3 days before sending money to a bank account, however, if KYC formalities have been completed, then they can send money to any bank account immediately without any waiting period.
The minimum amount to send to the bank is Rs 100. 1% charge will be on the total amount being debited from the Paytm wallet
This is our small step to help our partners & users to overcome their liquidity issues. Please note this is a limited period offer and rates may be revised upwards.

UPDATE: All KYC Merchants would be able to transfer money from Paytm to their bank account at 0% fee (till 31st December 2016)**. However, this offer is not applicable for regular Paytm Users who have done their KYC. They will have to bear 1% charge (reduced from 4% earlier)
Earlier: Starting 13 Nov, all Paytm customers & merchants will be able to send money from their Paytm wallets to any bank account at a flat fee of 1%.
